The adidas Superstar has seen its fair share of collaborations, including team-ups with BAPE and Sean Wotherspoon. Now the German giant has once again tapped Finnish design house Marimekko for an all-new offering of the signature silhouette.
Known for its bold and colorful prints and patterns, Marimekko playfully injects its design aesthetics into the classic model. The Marimekko x adidas Superstar stays true to the silhouette’s classic smooth white leather construction and matching Shell Toe, while the Three Stripes branding and heel tab have been dressed in the Finnish design house’s poppy print in cream and orange florals. Further elevating the pair are “Gold Metallic” hits arriving on the upper, “Superstar” branding on the lateral, and co-branding on the tongues.
Furthermore, this Marimekko x adidas Superstar is constructed with Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials. Additionally, 50% of the upper is recycled content while no virgin polyester is used.
The Marimekko x adidas Superstar is currently available to purchase via adidas.com and aftersales market places such as eBay. The sneaker retails for $85.
