At the beginning of the year, Onitsuka Tiger released a newly-developed line of its Lay Up 72 model, a sneakers that had not release since 1972. In attempt to keep the attention around this model, Onitsuka Tiger has hooked up with German brand Koi Klub to create a very similar sneaker dubbed the Koi Koi.
The Koi Koi obviously draws much of design cue inspirations from the aforementioned Lay Up 72. Its high-top Chuck Taylor-esque construction a 100% nylon-like texture colored in beige shade. It is also complimented with minimal orange hints, a white vulcanized rubber sole and a laser-etched Japanese character symbolizing ‘love’ and ‘intense’. Both words are under the pronunciation of ‘Koi’ in Japanese language.? The Koi Koi will soon be available at select retailers in Europe. View detailed photos below.
