words // Nick DePaula:

All throughout Kobe Bryant’s 2002-2003 regular season campaign, there was a surprise in store every night he took the floor.

After breaking his initial endorsement contract with adidas once the 2002 season ended, the then-#8 Lakers star agreed to wait a full calendar year before signing with a new brand, a common clause for endorsement splits. There was another catch too — Kobe couldn’t wear the same brand of shoes for 3 or more games in a row.

The result? He wore kicks from a constant spree of rotating brands looking to woo Bryant during his full season of true sneaker free agency.

We’ll take a look at some of the classic Air Jordan models he wore tomorrow, but take a trip down memory lane at some of the great sneakers from Reebok, Nike, Converse and AND1 that Kobe rocked.
