Taking a picture with your opponent has been done before. Wearing your opponent’s signature shoes, maybe, since they’re top of the line. But wearing the opposing team’s logo? Unheard of. After Team USA’s 110-63 highlight reel yesterday, Tunisia’s Mohamed Hadidane got Kobe Bryant to autograph the shoes that he wore in the loss. As seen in the video below, the shoes he wore against the United States fittingly were the Nike Zoom Kobe VII “USA. Not highlighted on the NBC broadcast were the socks that he had on: the Nike Elite 2.0 “USA” socks that are red, white and blue and feature the USA Basketball logo. It will never be known if this year’s lineup could beat the 1992 Dream Team on the court, but there is no record of Angola or anyone else ever wearing American apparel against the ’92 squad.
