Today marks the last Kicks On Court Award for the 2008-09 NBA season. You have already chosen the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, the Nike Hyperdunk and the Air Jordan 11 “Championship” as the best signature sneaker, the best team sneaker and the best Air Jordan signature sneaker of the year, respectively. In the fourth and final ballot of our Kicks On Court Awards, we give you the option of picking your favorite special edition of the 2008-09 NBA season. Obviously, the Kobe IV and the Zoom LeBron VI were seen in more colorways than you can think of, however, there are other special edition sneakers that can rival the aforementioned signature sneakers. Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Finals Edition”
You already dubbed the Nike Zoom Kobe IV as the best signature sneaker of the 2008-09 NBA season. Will you label the Championship Edition the best special edition sneaker of the year? Kobe Bryant laced this particular sneaker up during the Finals series against the Orlando Magic. It features multiple Kobe Bryant statistics on the toe box and collar in graffiti writing. ? Many of you stated that this was the best Kobe IV colorway yet.
Nike Zoom LeBron VI “Big Apple”
Following the exclusive Zoom LeBron V “Yankees” that was specifically made for LeBron’s special trip to the Garden in the 2007-08 season, Nike provided him with a Nike Zoom LeBron VI “Big Apple” for this year’s trip to the Garden. The colorway is inspired by New York City’s nickname (the Big Apple).
Air Jordan XX3 “Hardwood Classic”
To coincide with the throwback uniforms of the ABA New Orleans Buccaneers, Jordan Brand created an exclusive Air Jordan XX3 White/Red. Paul wore this sneaker two times during the season for Hardwood Classic night. Could this be the best special edition sneaker of the 2008-09 NBA season?
Nike Zoom LeBron VI “MVP”
In honor of LeBron James receiving the 2008-09 MVP award, Nike designed a special Zoom LeBron VI “MVP” for his accomplishment. The upper consists of various writings includin the letters, MVP. This only makes us wonder if Nike would have made James an exclusive Zoom LeBron VI for the finals if he made it.
Jordan Pure Pressure ?Inauguration Day?
In honor of Barack Obama winning the presidential campaign, Jordan Brand created two special edition Jordan Pure Pressure “Inauguration” colorways for Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby. Although this may be the least-recognized model on our ballot, you cannot ignore the inspiration.
