Under the creative direction of a California-based multidisciplinary artist, the Julian Klincewicz x Vault by Vans “Pale Fire Sky” Collection celebrates the upcoming summer season. With a full range of apparel and five different pairs of sneakers, this collection has you covered from head-to-toe.
Influenced by nostalgia and inspired by his childhood summers spent in Michigan, Julian Klincewicz re-tells the stories of those warm sunny days spent with his friends and family. With two central themes in mind – “PURE IMAGINATION” and “PALE FIRE SKY” – the collection balances the experiences of childlike innocence with the harsh contrast of those angsty teenage years. The essence of this collection can be seen in the muted Summer tones.
The Vault by Vans OG Style 31 LX comes in three jewel-toned hairy suede colorways. “PURE IMAGINATION” is printed in gold foil along each quarter and is complete with black contrast stitching, laces, and an all-black outsole. The Vault by Vans OG Authentic SP LX comes in two colorways, both with hairy suede uppers, drawcord inspired laces, a marshmallow outsole, and outsole with “PALE FIRE SKY” printed in gold along the side. The Vault by Vans branding on the back of the heel has a unique rainbow layered finish that reveals a new color as you wear them over time.
“My collection is meant to be worn and worn down, the suedes are meant to fade from bright to muted, from vivid to sun-bleached shades, and the shirts are meant to have their sleeves cut and rolled because it’s so hot and humid. The idea with having a large-scale poem on the back of a shirt – is that it could be read on the beach between moments of rest and play. The items are meant to be made individual by the owner. They’re meant to be tools for a summer spent running, playing, adventuring – they’re simply pieces to facilitate experiences,” said Julian Klincewicz.
Julian brings these experiences to life by creating a campaign made in the likeness of a movie poster, which even comes with an accompanying score. To coincide with the campaign, Julian worked alongside a friend and fellow multidisciplinary artist, Deaton Chris Anthony. Together the duo produced two original tracks inspired by the collection, which also included their own original writing and recording. These original tracks are set to go live on Spotify, along with a curated playlist designed for summertime energy.
