Jordan Brand has finally unveiled Zion Williamson’s first signature silhouette, aptly dubbed the Jordan Zion 1.
The highly-anticipated signature model, inspired by Williamson’s game and unique star power, will debut in four vibrant colorways reminiscent of superhero armor. First up the “Gen Zion” option sports a black and white outfit accented with tribal patterns on the inner liner. This will be the first drop of Williamson’s lineup. Next up the purple and blue “ZNA,” multi-colored “Noah,” and vibrant pink “Marion,” will release near the end of May.
“We knew that one of Zion’s main inspirations for the look of the shoe was superhero armor,” explains Vianney de Montgolfier, Senior Footwear Designer, Jordan Sport. “When we thought about an icon or symbol that could clearly draw out the shoe’s benefits, the “Z” made perfect sense to us.”
In terms of construction, the Jordan Zion 1 comes equipped with a full-length Air Strobel and Zoom Air unit underneath the forefoot for energy-returning stability. Elsewhere, a forefoot band and re-engineered traction pattern provide a secure and responsive feel on the court.
Along with the Jordan Zion 1, a range of matching apparel will coincide with the drop. All items will be available to purchase via Jordan Brand’s online store.
