The University of Houston’s Women’s Basketball team is going to be stepping out extra fresh this season as Jordan Brand honors the UH Cougars with 5 exclusive sneakers. The collection features the Jordan Why Not .5, the Jordan Zion 2, and the Jordan Luka 1.

Both the Jordan Zion 2 and the Jordan Luka 1 comes in two iterations, while the Jordan Why Not .5 stands alone in a classic UH Cougars colorway. You can expect the ladies to wear the sneakers throughout the season as they face the Ragin Cajuns on November 7th before kicking off their conference schedule on December 30th versus SMU.

Check out the Jordan Brand “UH Cougars” collection below. It’s unclear if any of the colorways will be releasing, but updates can be found on our Sneaker Release Dates page. Take a look at the sneakers below and follow @NiceDrops on Instagram.

The Jordan Why Not. 5 is a half-bootie constructed sneaker with a translucent base and Red textiles on the tongue and heel. Russell Westbrook’s logo is seen on the tongue and medial side of the heel, with the Jumpman on the lateral side. The sneaker uses a nylon lacing setup with a nubuck overlay on the high wear areas around the toe. The White midsole features a double-stacked Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, and a translucent Red outsole that’s detached with a Black shank plate placed in the midfoot for stability. The UH logo on the tongue completes the sneaker.

This Jordan Zion 2 uses a Cougar-inspired Tan leather for the base which features perforated accents throughout. The silhouette comes with a Zoom Air lace strap situated just above the toebox. Zion’s signature logo appears on the tongue, followed by Jumpman labeling on the heels. Contrasting the muted uppers are hints of Red on the heel and outsole against a White midsole. An Air strobel unit is featured in the heel with a standard Zoom Air unit on the forefoot for a more responsive setup.

Cougar Pride is seen on this Jordan Zion 2 as the University colors takeover the upper. The two-tone sneaker uses Red suede and White leather on the heel. The sneaker has perforated accents throughout. The Zoom Air lace strap sits just above the toebox with Zion’s signature logo on the tongue. Rather than the usual Jumpman branding, the UH logo appears on the heel. The two-tone midsole is Red and White and features sn Air strobel unit in the heel with a standard Zoom Air unit on the forefoot.

This Jordan Luka 1 comes ready in a sleek all-Black colorway. The sneaker has Black mesh topped with Black Flightwire frame cables for a flexible but secure fit. The Flightwire is capped with TPU trim just above the IsoPlate system with full-length Formula23 foam midsole. Light Grey accents appear on the tongue tag, Jumpman branding, and speckled midsole cutouts. The sneaker is complete with a semi-translucent underfoot.

This Jordan Luka 1 takes on a Pink and Purple color scheme. The sneaker uses White mesh and Magenta stripes with Flightwire frame cables that are secured with molded Purple TPU. The TPU trim is embellished with ribbon, perhaps as a nod to October being Breast Cancer Awareness month. More Purple highlights appear on the midsole, which features a new IsoPlate system with full-length Formula23 foam. The signature Jumpman is seen on on the rear and at the base of the laces. The sneaker is finished with Pink lining, White laces, and a tri-color outsole.
