The Washington Huskies have a long history of producing NBA guards who not only have basketball game, but also have sneaker game. Top 20 recruit Nigel Williams-Goss could be the next in line to come out of UW into the league, but his shoe success is already justified. The freshman recently laced the Nike Kobe I from 2005, Kobe Bryant’s first signature shoe with Nike. Williams-Goss isn’t the only member of this year’s Husky roster wearing impressive footwear, but the latest crop of guards to work in Seattle has a lengthy legacy to live up to. NBA guards and Kicks On Court regulars Nate Robinson, Brandon Roy, Quincy Pondexter, Terrence Ross, and Tony Wroten are all UW alums who have shown out in both departments. Lacing up Air Jordans and rare retros since 2002, including the preferred Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” that matches the Huskies’ unis, Washington’s guards have stayed consistent.

Nate Robinson started his collegiate athletics career as a cornerback on the Washington Huskies football team. The spark plug would later make a permanent transition to the hardwood, where he lead the team to Pac-10 championships and a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. Despite his current Kicks On Court Championship contention, Nate Rob kept his sneakers consistent while at UW, mostly wearing team shoes and his documented favorite, the Nike Air Max 2 CB 94.
