A History of “Christmas” Nike KDs

It doesn’t have to be the holiday season for Kevin Durant to be in the Christmas spirit. The always generous gentle giant recently replaced a fan’s stolen KDs with an autographed pair, showing another example of his giving nature.

While KD is no stranger to playing Santa, Nike is no stranger to creating Christmas colorways for their slender signature athlete. Much like St. Nick, KD works holidays, taking the NBA hardwood in a variety of themedĀ sneakers. On the toes of the Nike KD 7 “Egg Nog” unveiling, we take a look at all the special edition “Christmas” colorways cooked up on the Nike KD line.

Nike Zoom KD III “Stoplight”

Year: 2010

Yellow may mean ‘slow down,’ but it was clear that things were beginning to speed up for the Nike KD line when he got his first Christmas colorway in 2010. True, the Kobes and the LeBrons proved more popular then, but this KD III is looking mighty fine in hindsight.
