The name Aloysius may sound unfamiliar to some, but if you grew up a New York Knicks fan, or just a Patrick Ewing aficionado, the name of Germanic origins rings commonplace. It’s, of course, the middle name of the famed Knicks center, and now the moniker for the latest Ewing Athletics sneaker collaboration featuring NY natives Fabolous and Teyana Taylor. Their joining with Packer Shoes brings forth the Ewing 33 Hi “Aloysius” Fame & War Collection – of which fame and war is derived from the original translation of Ewing’s middle name.
The two-piece collection starts with the “war” iteration, which incorporates full grain black leather throughout the base alongside a woven multicolored ankle strap and gold contrast across the tongue, buckle, and heel. The “fame” edition, however, opts for a more luxe stance, adorning all-over metallic gold with a speckled gum bottom to finish.
