Although Matthew Senna has been producing high quality conceptual art for some time now, it wasn’t until earlier this year when Drake commissioned the Los Angeles resident to produce a solid gold pair of OVO Air Jordan 10’s that interest and intrigue regarding his work became overwhelming.
In response, Senna, in conjunction with 3125c, put together a Study Session 001 exhibition to showcase his latest sneaker sculptors and explain the sentiment behind his foundational work.
Senna’s budding collectible series centers around the nuance of the Air Jordan 1. Resin iterations in white, black and red where on hand at the event, each finished with meticulous and compelling detail. Then there was the red room, an alluring space lit in red with tonal Michael Jordan Bulls No. 23 jerseys hung in lockers.
