Introduced by Nike in 2003, laser etching technology has been used to tell tales and add emphasis to some of the most iconic sneaker silhouettes ever introduced. This innovative technique has been championed by Jordan Brand, executed as a way to celebrate the company’s rich legacy and detail defining drops. Today, we look back at some of the best Air Jordan releases to feature laser detailing.

On MJ’s 40th birthday, this special one-of-one Air Jordan 3 was presented to his Airness as a gift. If the Nike Air wasn’t enough to make everyone jealous, the unofficial debut of laser accenting was.
