As a tribute to Joaquin Oliver, a 17-year-old Stoneman Douglas High School shooting victim, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has been writing the teenager’s name on his Li-Ning Way of the Wade 6. Taking his tribute a step further, Wade invited Oliver’s parents to Miami’s 105-96 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday and presented them with a custom pair of Li-Ning WOW6 and a Miami Heat “Vice” jersey.
Created by noted sneaker customizer Mache, the custom WOW6 Wade sport a red and black color scheme. Oliver’s name is written across the mid-foot straps and Stoneman’s school logo is featured on the toe box.

I was honored and humbled to make these special Way of Wades for @dwyanewade, who last night gifted them to the family of Joaquin Oliver. Joaquin was the young DWade fan who’s life was taken far too soon in the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School. No pair of shoes can ever replace a loss like Joaquin’s but i hope they gave his family some sort of joy, even if for a minute. #MSDstrong #biggerthanbasketball @wayofwade
