After much of his work with Jordan Brand, Don C is shifting to Nike Basketball with a budding Nike KD 12 collaboration.

The reported joint release is inspired by ’90s hoops films Above the Rim and White Men Can’t Jump.

The shoe takes from the Above the Rim movie font for its heel script while a faded cycling hat worn by Sidney Dean — played by Wesley Snipes in White Men Can’t Jump — inspires the shoe’s holistic color scheme. It’s unclear if any other nods from each film find placement on the exterior of the shoe, yet those two alone are enough to strike a nostalgic balance for this modern design.
