Starks and Clark Kent were challenged by Nike Sportswear’s Design Director Jesse Leyva to collaborate and create a pack that pays homage to the spirit of competitive sport and this year???s host city – Phoenix, Arizona.
Starks initiates the design partnership by creating reflective and patterned lace packs, contrasting metal anglets, engraved Dubraes, and East/West branded insoles to represent the rivalries. ???The Arizona desert was our main inspiration so we used oxidized copper on the anglets and dubraes to get that rustic worn out feel like they were sitting under the hot Arizona sun for years??? says Starks.
With the Phoenix Suns team colors in mind, Clark Kent’s unique touch brings premium leathers such as patent, nubuck, and the pebbled leather of a basketball, while Starks reminds us all why they are still the leaders in the lace game with 3M, purple star patterned and checkerboard laces.?? Both makeups of the All Star Game 2009 Air Force Ones are available now in stores.
