Austin’s annual South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) burgeons the city’s populace. For the most part, everyone is attending the exhausting variety of events and shows, however, at some point people have to eat and rest. Three separate entities: DC, Frank, and Duel Purpose are convening to fill this need. Duel Purpose, an Austin design firm, will host the DC Lounge at their studio. While inside the Duel Purpose studio, one may enjoy a chili-dog from Frank’s and view DC’s Fall and Holiday 2010 LIFE Collections.?Read below for the full press release.
“DC is pleased to announce that it’s partnering with local Austin eatery Frank and Duel Purpose to create The DC Lounge, held at Duel Purpose’s studio this week during the South by Southwest (SXSW) music, film and interactive festival. Open to the public from Thursday, March 18th to Saturday, March 20th this hospitality lounge will be a place where guests of SXSW can come to chill, enjoy a bite to eat, and view DC’s latest products. During the three-day event, guests will get an exclusive look at footwear and apparel from DC’s Fall and Holiday 2010 LIFE Collections, as well as a retrospective look at past DC Special Projects, which includes collaborations with artists, musicians and brands. ‘DC has a long history of working with musicians and SXSW is the perfect place to showcase that heritage,’ said Kelly Magrath, DC’s VP of Marketing. ‘We’re excited to be working with Frank and Duel Purpose to create a unique environment for people to come to in the midst of one the most influential music festivals in North America.’ The lounge is being set up at Duel Purposes studio space and local hot spot restaurant Frank will be on hand serving Austin favorites including their famous chili- dogs and frosty cold beers. Gifts created exclusively for this event will be handed out and there will be prizes, including autographed items by DC athletes, up for grabs.
