New York based sneaker shop David Z has made a name for itself for the past 3 decades being the one place in NYC you are sure to find a pair of kicks that you like. In the past year, many have taken notice of the store because of its very successful David Z x Asics Gel Lyte III’s. Asics has taken notice and has another set of Asics done up by the mastermind behind the previous collabs, Ronnie Fieg.
Ronnie, who is a very seasoned sneaker designer, created these in commemoration of David Z’s 25th Anniversary. Each of the shoes in the collection tell a different story. The Stainless Steel pair is a tribute to the 25 years of success as an independent sneaker boutique in NYC while the Solid Gold pair took inspiration from David Z’s reputation as being a high end luxury sneaker store in Soho. Looking forward, with the stability and success that the company has had leading up to its silver anniversary, a golden anniversary doesn’t seem far fetched.
Like with previous David Z collaborations, quantities are limited. In total 200 pairs of each color will be available with 50 allocated to be sold online at DavidZ.com. A release date has not be set in stone yet, but look for these in December around Christmas time.
