Frequent collaborators Concepts and New Balance have given sneaker fans a whole lot of sought-after models over the years, such as the Concepts x New Balance 992 “Low Hanging Fruit”, the Concepts x New Balance 57/40 “Headin’ Home”, and most recently a bold magenta dipped 998.
Now, for the current Fall 2023 season, the Boston brand and footwear giant are re-dropping their collaborative Concepts x New Balance 998 Made in USA “C-Note” to mark the iconic silhouette’s 30th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the pair’s original drop.
The shoe’s return was first hinted at by Deon Point and confirmed by Tyler Mansour (@arab_lincoln). The 2023 sees a revamp of the OG boasting an altered shape compared to the 2013 version, which paid homage to the hundred-dollar bill, thanks to Teddy Santis’ Made in USA collection.
The original was constructed using premium materials dipped in various hues to represent currency. Other details included the reflective 3M detailing, ENCAP midsole, and special branding. The revamped iteration boasts a classic mesh upper, complemented with suede overlays, a toe guard and a heel counter. Rounding out the final design cues are the co-branded embroidered tongue and sockliner, Concepts branding at the vamp, and custom packaging.
The Concepts x New Balance 998 Made in USA “C-Note” drops on October 5th via NewBalance.com, cncpts.com, and Concepts locations in Boston and NYC. The pair will retail for $220.
