It seems like only yesterday that Kevin Ollie and Co. were cutting down the nets in Arlington to cap a thrilling run through the NCAA tournament. However, while that moment may seem fleeting to some, another exciting men’s basketball season is upon us and with that comes another stellar year of College Kicks On Court. Now mind you, the season hasn’t officially begun yet, but what better time than to provide you with the latest edition of College KOC as we distinguish the top five teams to look out for this upcoming season.
No. 5: UCONN Huskies
Why You Should Pay Attention: The Connecticut Huskies simply continue to build upon their storied tradition. Only months removed from another National Championship, the Huskies are head into this season with minimal expectations of a repeat, as the Huskies only garner a number 15 ranking in the ESPN pre-season polls. However, while pundits examine their X’s and O’s, UCONN’s storied tradition allows us to place them amongst our five teams to watch from a sneaker standpoint. With the addition of NC State transfer Rodney Purvis, the Huskies should have a star on their hands that could don several Air Jordan models. The reasoning behind that assertion is the history of stellar UCONN players rocking various Air Jordan models such as Kemba Walker, Ben Gordon and Rudy Gay.
