“Claim A Seat At The Table”, shortened to Claima Stories, chronicles the experiences of young people of color developing as creatives and businesspeople. The independent podcast, hosted by co-founder Bimma Williams, has already honored the works of over 100 different artists.
For its latest partnership, Saucony has teamed up with the independent content agency for a new initiative celebrating Black and Brown individuals in creative fields. Acting as the third release of a project called “Claim A Seat,” the Claima x Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane “Claim A Seat” is helping to channel Williams and his teams’ voices through the special collaboration.
“This collaboration is near and dear to my heart; from my own beginnings in the footwear industry at Saucony to the heartfelt nod to my hometown of Louisiana through the name ‘3D Grid Hurricane’,” said Bimma Williams, Co-Founder of Claima. “This partnership symbolizes the value of following one’s dreams and staying true to one’s mission. The ‘3D Grid Hurricane’ sneaker is a testament to resilience and collaboration, co-designed by a dear friend of mine, John Humphrey of Beignet Boys in New Orleans.”
The Claima x Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane “Claim A Seat” boasts a white upper with suede overlays decked in Claima’s signature purple hue. The premium suede is further accented with golden gilded accents such as the embroidered markings on the top of the forefoot and heel and river-inspired motifs on the sides.
The pair releases on September 30 at 9 am PST via claimastories.com. The pair will retail for $150. Five dollars from every sale will benefit the nonprofit All Hands Raised, which is “dedicated to transforming the educational system through advancing equity for every child, from cradle to career.”
