Copenhagen-based designer Cecilie Bahnsen previewed seven upcoming New Balances as part of her Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Dreamy iterations of the ASICS GEL-1130 and the ASICS GEL-1090 walked down her Paris Fashion Week runway, revealing floral embellishments across the silhouettes. After the PFW preview, Bahnsen and ASICS launched 50 upcycled, one-of-a-kind pairs.
Future meets past as Bahnsen pairs retro ASICS sneakers with jeweled flowers. The silhouettes come dressed in shiny silver, black/yellow, and light blue/white. Cut-out flowers adorn the ASICS GEL-1090, while the ASICS GEL-1130 has crystalized flower patches.
The ASICS GEL-NIMBUS also joins the collection in silver, with stunning floral finishes as well. For depth, the sneaker appears in all-black before closing out the shoe in a final blue/white colorway.
Each pair was handcrafted at Bahnsen’s Copenhagen studio and made with care. Each unique sneaker focused on ASICS’ brand ethos of “Sound Mind, Sound Body.”
The 1-of-1 pairs of the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS are available now. A total of 50 pairs are up for grabs on CecilieBahnsen.com.
