Rounding off another incredibly strong year, The Weeknd, has joined forces with BAPE to launch a 2-part BAPE STA special. Though he may not have gotten the industry recognition he deserved, this pack will leave a lasting impression. Given his Puma contract expired some time ago, we’ve seen Abel dropping different collaborations – most recently his Suicoke Moto collab. Now, he joins up with the Japanese powerhouse brand to round of the year in a memorable way.
Arriving in two signature patent leather colorways, both pairs are constructed in classic BAPE STA shape & paneling. One model is made from a sleek Black patent while its opposite number is dressed in White patent all over. Each colorway features bright green detailing on the BAPE STA stars and XO branding on the heel cup – replacing the recognizable heart in the XO logo with a skull. The tongue labels feature BAPE & XO collaboration branding and following the flat laces down, luxurious metal XO dubraes. Classic BAPE STA soles round off each model alongside branded insoles to round off this classy collaboration.
The pack lands December 12th, closing the BAPE STA’s 20th anniversary tour as part of the ARTIST MODEL SERIES collection. As BAPE has mentioned, the pairs will be available at A BATHING APE locations, BAPE’s website & The Weeknd’s webstore too.
