To celebrate the Japanese tradition of “Setsubun,” adidas has tapped famed sneaker retailer atmos for a collaborative ZX capsule.
The frequent collaborators opt for a vibrant color palette made from an array of mixed materials and hues to celebrate the age-old Japanese tradition of Setsubun, which means “Seasonal Division.”
First up, the atmos x adidas ZX 8000 “Setsubun” features a vibrant red, blue and green weaved upper paired with accenting hits of suede overlays arriving at the heel and toe counter. Final design cues include the two-toned laces, heel cage, tiger fur inner liner, and a mystical creature appearing on the tongue tabs.
Over on the atmos x adidas ZX 2K Boost “Setsubun,” the silhouette sports a more toned-down black upper. However, the vibrant red, green, and blue weave pattern appears on the heel in addition to a tiger fur inner liner. Elevating this colorway is an earring accessory on the heel, fangs on the sole, and a face built into the tongue’s branding.
The atmos x adidas “Setsubun” Pack will release via raffle. Winners will be notified on February 2.
