Breaking out of only classic running models, the ASICS retro department re-introduced the world to one of their best basketball silhouettes earlier this year – Isiah Thomas’ early 90’s signature shoe, the Gel-Spotlyte. After being snubbed and left off the Dream Team (thank Michael Jordan for that) for the 1992 Summer Olympics, Isiah never got to rep a pair of Spotlytes on the world’s stage. Luckily for us now, ASICS imagines what Isiah’s Olympic-themed kicks might have looked like with this new pair in a patriotic red, white, blue and gold color scheme. The “Olympics” Gel-Spotlyte should be arriving later this fall here in the good ol’ US of A, but you can pick them up right now online from Sneakersnstuff.
