Next month, Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets will host the league’s biggest and brightest stars for the annual NBA All-Star festivities. In honor of the host city, Jordan Brand will release a collection of Carolina focused sneakers. Among them will be the Air Jordan 9 “UNC” — or the Air Jordan 9 All-Star.
A contemporary iteration of 2002’s Air Jordan 9 Low “Blue Pearl,” many thought this shoe would be a budding edition of the “Powder” 9s. Instead, they’re of the same ilk as the “Win Like 82” Air Jordan 11 that released in 2017.
Fans of this Tarheels-inspired Air Jordan 9 “UNC” can expect them just ahead of All-Star Weekend on February 9.
Update 2/1: Jordan Brand has revealed official images of its Air Jordan 9 “UNC” aka “University Blue” set to release on February 9. This colorway originally released as a Low back in 2002.
Update 2/5: Set to release this weekend on February 9, Politics has revealed images of full family sizes of the Air Jordan 9 “Midnight Navy.”
