Tinker Hatfield’s influence is all over this upcoming Air Jordan 7 retro. As referenced in the shoe’s moniker, the “Tinker Alternate” marks a deviation from the original Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” to something a little more modern.
Focusing on the original 1992 style, and how it would have come out had Tinker designed the Oly colorway, the Air Jordan 7 “Tinker Alternate” sees its greatest distinction at the heel. The back badge where MJ’s Olympic number 9 resides is updated with an American flag underlaying the number.
Stars and stripes are all but expected when considering an Olympics shoe, so the update itself isn’t much of a shocker. But it does add a bit more allure to a shoe that many already have, providing motivation to those who may want to secure something a little more special.
