After showing you multiple photos of the next Air Jordan Bin 23 Collection, we have now learned Jordan Brand will release the “Premio” Air Jordan 5 on February 18, 2011. For the creation of this shoe, Jordan Brand designers picked the brain of long time Jordan-head Alex Meacham.
“Hands down. The black Jordan fives are my favorite Jordan of all time. Black fives with white laces,” Meacham said.
Meacham recalled watching a 1990 Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks playoff game in which MJ scored 48 points while wearing the black Air Jordan 5 with white laces. Meacham also stated that noticed a lot of black shoes with white laces in the gym when he attended a basketball camp held for some of the top prep players in the country that summer.
“It was like you had to earn your white laces. You’ve got to be a baller to wear them,” Alex said.
With those two instances in mind, Jordan Brand incorporated white laces in this soon-to-be-released “Premio” Air Jordan 5. Its black/metallic silver upper is predominately comprised of premium leather and features a no-sew construction on the updated black window. As stated earlier, the Air Jordan 5 Premio Bin 23 will hit select retailers on February 18, 2011.
