The Air Jordan 5 “Olive” is releasing for the first time since its 2006 debut, according to ZSneakerheadz and Sneaker Files.
In the early-2000s, Jordan Brand launched the L’Style (LS or lifestyle) era, which featured classic silhouettes in all-new colorways.
From the “Green Bean” Air Jordan 5 (which retroed in 2022) to the “Chambray” Air Jordan 7 (which returns this year), the LS offerings from Jordan Brand were more than just the footwear as each release had matching apparel to coincide with the appropriate drop.
Though not every LS drop aged like wine, recent rereleases like “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 3s in 2021, “Lightning” Air Jordan 4s in 2022, “Thunder” Air Jordan 4s next month, and “Burgundy” Air Jordan 5s in Fall 2023, all point that LS was ahead of its time — even if it wasn’t received with open arms.
The return of the AJ5 “Olive” could be a first time for some, a surprise, or even an “it’s about time” to others; regardless, the rerelease of the colorway will take us all back to a different time in sneaker culture.
The suede upper of the Air Jordan 5 covered in olive green was accented with vibrant orange details on the shoe’s lining, tongue, lace lock, and signature shark teeth. A matching green was placed on the midsole and eyestays. The 2024 pair is expected to have the same features.
The Air Jordan 5 “Olive” will release in Spring 2024 on SNKRS and select retailers. The pair will retail for $210.
