In 2006, the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” and its “Pure Money” pairing released to some fanfare but not to the appeal they’ve since grown to today.
Releasing right around the SB boom and the rebirth of loud, retro inspired streetwear, all-black and all-white Air Force 1s were past their prime with look alike styles getting little love. Fast forward to Jay-Z’s All-Black Everything look in ’09 and A$AP Rocky’s street goth wave in 2011 and the “Black Cats” suddenly saw new cache.
Never released since their ’06 arrival, it appears they’re coming back but we’ll have to wait a bit. According to House of Heat and their sources, the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” won’t be back until February 2020.
In the time since, other sources have backed a 2020 drop.
Months ago, a release date of February 22, 2020 was reported.
However, the unveiling of the Olivia Kim x Air Jordan 4 in similar styling had many wondering – to include us – if those were in fact the rumored Black Cat revamp and that a standard style in men’s size would not release.
Not to worry, recent reports from @zSneakerheadz echo the original sentiment that a formal “Black Cat” 4 will still release in 2020.
Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for any and all updates.
