One of the most iconic Air Jordan 3 colorways is rumored to return this holiday season.
Although it was originally reported that the colorway would get the Reimagined treatment, Sole Retriever states that the upcoming retro will arrive in OG form and materials and will not have any Reimagined components.
The “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3 marked a new era for Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan line. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the AJ3 ushered in new design language from its predecessors: Jumpman logo on the tongue, Nike Air branding on the heel, a window for the Air unit and its signature elephant print.
In addition to its new look and feel, the Air Jordan 3 was sought after thank to Jordan’s performances in the 1988 dunk contest as he soared from the free throw line in the “White Cement” Air Jordan 3 and played in the star-studded 1988 All-Star Game in the “Black Cement” colorway.
In 2018, Jordan Brand celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 3 by retroing the “Black Cement” with OG Nike Air branding for the first time since 2001. The brand will retro the colorway once again with the shape, materials and details supposedly mirroring the 1988 version.
It’s rumored that the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” will replace the previously reported release of the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat” retro, which has been pushed back to 2025.
The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” is rumored to return November 23, 2024 for $220 via SNKRS and select retailers. The pair will release in full-family sizing as well.
