The Air Jordan 10 was never meant to be worn by Michael Jordan. He was retired from the NBA and playing baseball at the time of the shoe’s release, and showed no signs of returning. But when he abruptly did in March of 1995, the stars aligned for MJ to don his tenth signature shoe.
Jordan Brand is celebrating the shoe’s 23rd anniversary this year with two new releases for spring. The first is the monochromatic “I’m Back” pair honoring his return to the game. Its counterpart is this “Cool Grey” edition, featuring monotone grey leather and nubuck with a colorful ode to Jordan’s accomplishments lining the outsole which, interesting enough, was meant to honor his retirement as he again was never expected to wear the shoe.
