Nike does a good job of recognizing the world’s largest sporting events and honoring them with a special Nike Air Force 1. Sneakers such as the “NFL Pro Bowl” Air Force 1 and the “NBA All-Star” Air Force 1 have caught our attention all while paying tribute to a special sporting event. In May of 2006, Nike honored six World Cup teams with their own Country Air Force 1 for the prestigious World Cup. Therefore, with the 2010 World Cup opening game being played between South Africa and Mexico, what better time to highlight the “Mexico” World Cup Nike Air Force 1?

Although plain and simple, this Air Force 1 manages to incorporate the three colors of the Mexican flag in a very intriguing way. It features green patent leather on the side panels, toe box and heel tab, while white patent leather is used on the majority of the heel and toe area. To complete the shoe, Nike incorporated a patent leather, red swoosh. Other features include navy laces and a shield that reads ‘Mexico’ on the tongue. Did you manage to grab a pair of these in 2006, or were you cheering for a different team?
