After the initial rumors that an adidas Yeezy restock would take place in June, the brand has announced that adidas Yeezy sales will resume as early as May.
On May 11, adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden stated that the brand planned to sell its remaining Yeezy inventory with proceeds going towards organizations that fight. Over a week after the statement, the new adidas CEO and the brand are going forward with the remaining adidas Yeezy products.
After careful consideration, we have decided to begin releasing some of the remaining adidas Yeezy products. Selling and donating was the preferred option among all organizations and stakeholders we spoke to.
We believe this is the best solution as it respects the created designs and produced shoes, it works for our people, resolves an inventory problem, and will have a positive impact in our communities.
There is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden
Additionally, adidas has announced that it will partner with the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change run by Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, to drive Community programs through sport and education, working together to leave a lasting legacy.
