It seems that this year brands are pulling out all the stops to show recognition for Chinese New Year. Continuing the theme, adidas has prepared a clean UltraBOOST 5.0 DNA “Chinese New Year”, set to release shortly. Adding to the Scarlet pair which we featured last month, this pair arrives in brilliant contrast. The pair features a host of detailing around the uppers paying homage to the Year of the Ox beautifully.
Primeknit uppers come through in Cloud White, with the majority of the colored detailing found on the shoe’s innards. The lining and three stripes are decorated with a graphic which blends auspicious symbols form Chinese culture. Mostly Solar Red, these details stand out along with a bright tongue label with Gold Metallic adidas branding. A standout aspect of this model is a change to rounded laces, which include a Gold ring interlocked on them. This all sits atop a BOOST midsole, and Gum Rubber outsole all in all making for a strong effort.
