Adidas’ BOOST technology has proven to be a staple amongst sneakers in recent years. Time after time, adidas has managed to create new iterations of their most popular BOOST silhouettes. Now, adidas takes inspiration from a throwback 80’s model to create the adidas Originals ZX 5K Boost.
Coming in four new colorways, the ZX 5K Boost uses ultra modern materials to create a hyper futuristic aesthetic. Designed with comfort in mind, this sneaker takes elements from past and present including a BOOST midsole, a layered upper crafted with lightweight mesh, overlays with moulded TPU, and a soft pull cord at the heel. The retro-futuristic sneaker comes equipped in versions of Semi Screaming Green/Core Black, Gray Three/Screaming Green, Ambient Blush/Sonic Ink, and Wonder White/Acid Yellow.
To celebrate the launch, adidas teamed up with OMNI Magazine — an old Sci-Fi magazine regarded as one of the most innovative and creative publications of its genre. This assemblage of adidas Originals ZX 5K Boosts will be the apart of the comeback installment of OMNI’s ZXience series. This series can be seen in “The ZXience Issue: Layers of History and Time,” which is a limited edition reboot of the legendary magazine, honoring time and the impact it has on our collective creativity, inspired by ZX 5K Boost.
