Kerwin Frost is an all around creative that has numerous artistic ventures, but his adidas partnership may be the biggest one yet. “Creating this collection with adidas has been a dream since I was a child,” says Frost. “Designing the product and planning the rollout has been such a wild ride – it’s so crazy that it’s going to exist in the world finally! I hope people are excited when they see the pieces and it makes them feel something. My main message is to not be afraid to try new things and put your thoughts on paper and definitely not give a damn what people think.”
From his independent film festival to his podcast, Kerwin always manages to make space for his wacky spirit. His adidas partnership is no exception as the collection is full of playful graphics and colors. Kerwin uses nostalgic themes and vintage design elements to create a collection that is true to his style. The cartoon figures are based on faces you may have seen as a child, but instead of being bright and charming, they have a looming energy that creates fantasy surrealism. The Kerwin Frost x adidas Forum Low puts these eerie characters front and center on the the lateral side of the sneaker. While the Kerwin Frost x Forum Hi “Humanchives” bring the eeriness to life with 3D design elements such as a toy nose, eyeball wings, and horse teeth toe caps.
