It’s critical that adidas has a big 2019. Nike and Jordan regained the ground that they were assumed to have lost in 2016-17, reasserting themselves as the leader in footwear. But with the budding Ultra Boost 2019 coupled alongside the stability and excitement that both Kanye West and Pharrell Williams maintain, next year could easily be one where adidas firmly grasp the collective attention of sneaker culture.
Another way the German powerhouse can do this is with great inline sneakers. The Nite Jogger proves to be promising as does the newly unveiled adidas Lexicon Future.
Beginning to circulate after first being seen on Mid ’90s director, Jonah Hill, the buzzy silhouette takes full advantage of its chunky adiPRENE cushioned midsole by stacking sharp lines over breathable mesh fabrication. A whimsical lacing system lends further distinction to the running-inspired style that utilizes a padded ankle collar and heel loop.
Among the many new silhouettes we expect to see from adidas next year, the Lexicon Future serves as a union between what’s worked for the brand over the past few years matched with the comfort and ease that made styles like the ZX Flux and NMD hugely successful. Additional details to follow.
