adidas Consortium Retools 1997’s Salvation to Create FYW S-97

Adidas Consortium’s primary mission has always been bringing partners together and expanding the brand relationship with retailers. Yet in this current season their duties have expanded. Following behind retro-fitted styles like Yung 1 and Falcon, a classic from 1997 is reproduced for modern-day.

Taking the shell of the adidas Salvation — one of the first three stripes sneakers to utilize Feet You Wear technology — the Consortium team emerges with the FYW S-97. Also a response to the 30th anniversary of the Torsion system, the shoe is slimmed substantially with a premium mesh base with leather overlays.

There are many details from the 1997 original that remain unchanged. The tongue and midsole are very much like the decades-old design while the EVA midsole and Adiprene insert ensure cushioning is at its height.

Look for the adidas Consortium FYW S-97 on February 16th.

Update 2/15: The modernizing of the adidas Salvation now titled the FWY S-97 is set to release globally tomorrow, February 16, at select retailers including Chmielna20. Take a closer look below.
