As the NBA regular season winds down and we get into the playoffs, Damian Lillard wore a revamped edition of his signature sneaker called the adidas Dame 7 EXT/PLY. In this specific colorway, he wore debuted against the Lakers, adidas takes inspiration from Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok Shaqnosis and is rightfully dubbed the “Damenosis”.
Lillard says for the Dame 7 EXT/PLY it’s going to play off his rapper moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A. and for the “Damenosis” colorway it has the eye-catching hypnotic pattern originally on the Shaqnosis. This sneaker also seems to signify that Dame’s back-and-forth rap feud with Shaq is water under the bridge and pays tribute to the first NBA player to have a rap career.
Both the adidas and Reebok logos can be seen on the lateral side towards the heel and Dame D.O.L.L.A. ft. Shaq Diesel most notably on a lateral toe overlay similar to a musical track description. Dame’s logo is the tongue loop of the right shoe with Shaq’s logo on the left. The Dame 7 EXT/PLY still uses the same midsole as the Dame 7 with Lightstrike cushioning for impact protection without sacrificing responsiveness.
