Festival Future was in high fashion mode during his set last weekend at Coachella. Rocking pinstripe pants and a punk rock tee — both by Enfants Riches Deprimes and paired with a chain wallet at that — his outfit was certainly enough to excite our homies at Upscale Hype. While his get-up turned heads, it was our friends at WearTesters that had the eye to catch what was on his feet — his upcoming signature shoe with Reebok.

Cross-pollenating DNA from various Reebok Classic favorites, the model is a hodgepodge of heritage taken up a notch with today’s tech. In many ways, this shoe is following a similar recipe to that of the Nike Air Yeezy 1 and 2. But just exactly what are the ingredients?

For starters, the base of the shoe borrows from the Reebok Instapump Fury — the first Classic model tied to Future and from what we’ve heard his favorite model from the brand. Hexalite cushioning appears in honeycomb fashion as it always has, with what appears to be a carbon fiber midfoot shank and two-piece construction capping off the sole borrowed from the retro runner.

Atop, the Reebok Kamikaze II — made famous by Shawn Kemp and originally released in 1996 — inspires the vast majority of the upper, namely the zig-zag lines on the midfoot and heel branding/pull tab combo. Where things get interesting is that the zig-zag structure appears to take on Pump inflation. Continuing the technical and aesthetic edge, the model then shifts to a mesh (or perhaps knit) ankle collar, tied down by over exaggerated lacing and a TPU heel counter. Viola, magic.

Decked out in neutral suede, these definitely pull from some of the more signature aspects of Kung-Fu Kenny’s run with Reebok as well as Swizz Beatz’ monster hybrids. With that said, are you feeling these at first glance? Let us know in the comments section and keep it locked for more on the Future x Reebok Classic partnership.
