Celebrating its 20-year anniversary, the Reebok Insta Pump Fury is as popular as ever. Easily the most utilized canvas for collaborative customs, the model is still regarded as one of the most polarizing silhouette of all time. To further highlight the retro runner as it enters its third decade, Sneaker Freaker recently visited the actual factory that still produces the Insta Pump Fury in 2014. On-site at the Fu Luh Factory in Fuzhou, China, SF gets insight from two of the main men behind the creation of the unique sneakers.
Advanced Concepts Director Paul Litchfield and original designer Steven Smith both discuss the process of getting the shoe into production, as well as its current state. The design with the Graflite Bridge, Hexalite Cushioning, and inflatable Air Bladder is shown being manufactured in its real factory, in its iconic neon colorway.
