The partnership between Yohji Yamamoto and adidas continues as they come together for a two-pack of sneakers revamping the adidas Superstar model. Going by the name of Super Position, this sneaker features premium leather on the upper, inner lining and in replacement of the toe box, with suede seen on the lace stays. Yamamoto’s logo can be seen on the tongue as well as the heel counter, replacing the adidas branding, but what really sets this redesign apart is the change made to the three stripes on the side panels. Hand-stitched thread is seen in place of the stripes, in a zigzag pattern from the top down, with the end left to hang a little long past the outsole.
Seen here in predominantly white and black colorways, the adidas Originals Super Position by Yohji Yamamoto will be available come August 10 at Y’s stores (Tokyo, London, Berlin and Paris), select fashion retailers and adidas Consortium accounts worldwide.
