The Chicago skateboarding scene is often overlooked, but Uprise Skateshop in Chicago has been holding skaters down since 1997. And to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Half Cab, Vans has teamed up with Uprise on two colorways of Steve Cabellero’s sneaker.

The collaborative collection drops in two colorways, a tonal red pair and a tonal black pair, taking inspiration from a certain NBA team a few miles south of the skateshop. Both pairs use a suede upper with a canvas tongue, with contrast stitching throughout. The iconic Half Cab logo is seen on the tongue and lateral side with Uprise’s logo seen on the inside of the tongue and insoles. The sneakers use POPCUSH insoles for cushioning and impact protection with a new SICKSTICK gum rubber compound on the outsole for durability and better grip.

The Uprise x Vans Half Cab ’92 is set to drop on April 8th in-store at Uprise and on their webstore, retailing for $85. Check out the editorial shots of the Half Cabs below and for all the latest drop dates, head over to our Sneaker Release Dates page.
