Off-White collaborations with Jordan Brand have produced several of the most popular releases in sneaker history. 2018’s Air Jordan 1 x Off -White collaborations were the catalyst, releasing to mass demand. Currently, all three colorways demand over two thousand dollars on the secondary market. This past year, we saw the release of the Air Jordan 5 x Off-White “Black”. Like past collaborations between the brands, the sneaker released to acclaim for its unique design and details. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the Air Jordan 5 x Off -White “White/Teal” and “Red/White” have been revealed for an upcoming summer release.
Off-White designer Virgil Abloh certainly has a special designing method. The unconventional cuts along with unexpected colorways have immensely bolstered the hype behind his collaborations with The Swoosh. Recently, it was teased that both Air Jordan 5s were revealed in an off-white/beige colorway. Differing between the two pairs, one set will primarily use red as an accent color and the other will use teal. These accent colors will be used on the “Nike Air” branding on the heel and the midsole. Additionally, both sneakers will feature grey tongues and the signature “23” near the mid panel. Similar to the previous Air Jordan 5 collaboration, the sneaker will have similar details, including the circular holes and yellowed midsole. Finished with “off-white” laces, signature off-white zip-tie, and yellowed lace holes, you can expect both Air Jordan 5s to be massively coveted.
It is rumored that the teal/white colorway will release as a friends and family pair while the white/red pair will release to the public. Expect the white/red pair to release in the late portions of summer. Unfortunately, the price has yet to be confirmed, but it is likely to release at a retail price of $225. Stay tuned for more details on this release. Let us know in the comments what you think about this new colorway.
