Last night, the PUMA team with folks from not only the North American office but also Germany had dinner with Walt “Clyde” Frazier at his restaurant as well as shot some hoops with the man himself. PUMA has given the PUMA Clyde a little bit of a rest in the past couple of years with lots of work on the PUMA Suede, but is it time for the PUMA Clyde to get some love again?
One can only speculate that something is in the works with the roster that was attending this dinner.
For those not familiar with the history of the PUMA Clyde, the shoe was the second signature shoe for an NBA player when it debuted following his the NBA Championship in 1973. Though similar to the Suede/Basket, the shoe and its complimenting marketing campaigns were used to illustrate Walt “Clyde” Frazier’s swagger on and off the court.
Let’s wait and see.
