Now that many of the NBA’s players aren’t restricted to colors and themes that match their particular team, you can expect the lot of them to take greater liberties in what they lace up during the new NBA season.
Given the many Nike-endorsed players that equally hold a looming adoration for Kobe Bryant, it’s easy to assume that the Zoom Kobe 1 Protro will get lots of run this season.
On October 23 the budding “Purple Reign” colorway will hit retailers. Although clearly an ode to the historic Lakers franchise as it represents the OG “Blackout” colorway from 2006, the shoe also resonates with another California-based franchise — the Sacramento Kings. Yet given its close tonal ties to those two squads, and the looseness of the league’s new ruling, just about any player can lace up this original Kobe 1 colorway.
