Dubbed the “Premiere Sneaker Event,” Sneaker Con provides a “huge space for vendors and attendees to buy, sell, and trade some of the most sought-after footwear in the game.”
This edition of Sneaker Con was held in the Bay Area, CA and sponsored by eBay. Ebay provided sneaker authenticity with authenticators on site to ensure that the sneakers you purchased at the event were legit. The new streetwear competition series, The Hype on HBO Max showed up to spread the news about the show. The panel moderator was co-founder of UpscaleHype, Allen Onyia.
Contestants Justin Mensinger and Camila Romero spoke about their brands and experience on the show. Mensinger is the founder and designer of his self named brand that focuses on upcycling items to give them new life. Romero is the founder and designer of Deadblud Label which prides itself on women-empowerment and sustainability.
Alexander-John was a featured guest on The Hype and was customizing sneakers based on the Suicide Squad live at Sneakercon. He is a multifaceted artist in many areas including, but not limited to sneaker customization, footwear design, and fashion design. No sneaker event is complete without shoe cleaning products present. Reshoevn8r was present to clean shoes and sell shoe cleaner. The brand began in 2010 and is owned by Steve Grear. Over time, the company has been one of the leaders in shoe care innovation and delivers effective shoe care products.
Free Shirts! You read that right. New York based company, Tog Maker was in the building providing a live screen printing experience for the people. The brand is owned by Complex host, Racks Hogan and his business partner, Elliott Gress. Tog Maker offers screen printing, embroidery services, and they also offer classes. Local vendors such as Flipitsf showed out for The Bay and brought the heat at their booths. Flipitsf is a San Francisco based company that began in 2011. The brand initially started because of the owner, Brandon Barretto’s hobby of constantly buying items from garage sales, flea markets, thrift shops and ebay and started “flipping” them which is where the name stems from. The products for sale are based on Barretto’s hobbies ranging from sneakers, cards, collectible toys, and 90s nostalgia. The Flipitsf logo is an ambigram so if you read it upside down it is still legible. Though the brand sells a variety of items they’re well-known for their sneaker keychains.
