Each year on the “Fifth of May,” Mexicans celebrate Mexico’s victory over the French Empire in 1862. This sneaker pack is inspired by that vibrant victory and the joyful colors seen in different parts of the country.
The adidas Mexicana first debuted at the Mexico Olympic Games in 1968 and is one of the OG silhouettes throughout the Three-Stripes lineage. Although this sneaker was made with the intention for athletics, the adidas Mexicana has evolved into a lifestyle shoe that is just as iconic as its other adidas Originals counterparts.
Offered in two colorways, the size? x adidas Mexicana “Cinco de Mayo” Collection features a Red and Purple pair. Both iterations are crafted with smooth suede and premium leather accents. The heel counter is stamped with Gold foil adidas Mexicana branding, just above the gum rubber soles.
The Red edition has the adidas Three-Stripes in Purple, with the heel tab and insole being Green. Meanwhile, the Purple pair has Red adidas Three-Stripes and eye-catching neon Yellow on the heel tab and insole.
