“…Kobe Bryant’s leaping a speeding Aston Martin got 8,000,000 internet hits in the first hour after it ran on YouTube.”

Nike has formulated some incredible and memorable campaigns over the years, and Phil Knight mentioned a few of them in his speech, including Lil Penny, Mars Blackmon, The LeBrons, Charles Barkley’s “I am not a role model” ad and many more. Yet, Phil’s mention of the Kobe Bryant/Aston Martin video just shows how much more viral that campaign was than any of the previous campaigns we mentioned. 8,000,000 hits is insane for anything on YouTube, but 8,000,000 hits in one hour is on another level.
